NIGERIAN FOOD RECIPES : OKPA

Okpa is a traditional Nigerian meal, originating somewhere in the east although the plant is cultivated in large quantity in the north. Many communities have laid claims to its originality but I’m aware that Enugu State is the “Okpa” capital of Nigeria. Only the chant of “Okpa di oku” would wake you from your sleep at the 9th mile and four corner junctions if you’re coming into the city by road. The Yoruba woman in Oshodi would even calls hers “Okpa Enugu” to get customers. At 6am, every popular junction in Enugu city comes alive with sellers and buyers of this power breakfast.

FUTURISTIC TRAVEL GOALS

I can’t imagine how exciting the future of world travel would be. So many amazing ideas for a more comfortable travel experience are coming up like this demo I saw on CNN international. They call it the “Transit elevated bus”. A concept by a Chinese technology and development company. I don’t know how feasible it is but if it’s eventually launched in the future, Nigeria would need a transport system like that. What do you think?

WATER SCARCITY IN ENUGU STATE

Enugu is such a beautiful city, I have always admired it. Tasty local meals, good transport system, exciting night life, beautiful scenery, an international airport and a big shopping mall. This state has a lot going for it. Chioma, uche and I share mutual love for dear Enugu. Uche wouldn’t take up a job if she wouldn’t be posted to Enugu and Chioma had decided to move into the city while job hunting.
